Walters death is a great loss for our country
I always liked to hear his news broadcast....felt like he presented news honestly and accruately

You'd think some of the Jackasses we have on the air now would have learned something from Cronkite and tried in some way to emulate a similar style of believability and trust. The gene pool is really going down the sewer.

He reported the increasing downward slide of the Vietnam war...and Nixon reportly said: "if we have lost Cronkite, we have lost the war"

Years ago when I had a blow boat Walter had a place on the Piankatank River very close to me. We often single handed our boats and found that we were going in the same direction. Of course the definition of a sail boat race is two of similar size going in the same direct.
I told my Bride this yesterday and she said, "You didn't beat him, did you?"
Walter Cronkite, are you kidding? But it was fun.
I raise a glass to his memory.
