cockpit coating

Hi guys, I've been out of the "loop" here for a while. Anyway, I just wanted to ask if it would be possible to coat the original cockpit area which is plywood, without the Bertram fake wood covering. I plan on replacing my main tank next year or so(I'm currently running on two saddle tanks for now)and will do the fiberglass cockpit kit when that time comes. I had in mind a coating that will adjust to the wood deck's contraction/expansion rates. Perhaps a raft recoating product(in white), or a spray in truck bedliner material? Any thoughts thanks in advance.
