Brrrrrr... Sure glad that's your house and not mine Randy. I just finished shooting some 3 part clear coat in the cabin of Hancock's B31. A bit breezy, but 84º & 29% humidity here.

hell it'll be 50 this weekend and springs right around the corner. i cant believe im so busy i cant enjoy it....this being an adult thing sucks....at least i waited till i was 60

it compacted about a third once the sun got on it for a few days. i'd call it about 13 inches here as measured up against the slider.

Perhaps... but the simplicity factor has diminished quite a bit... not that it's turned into brain surgery by any means.
What did you want to improve on, The vertical openings? What about lashing the gromets together with bungee ball ties?

it took less than an hour to erect. all the seams are retaped and not one grommet has pulled out. the bottom is bungeed to cinder blocks. front and back are zip tied. the single best thing is i can convert it to an open end A frame in less than ten minutes. i have easy winter access over the transom. so far it has withstood 60+ winds a number of times....bends but dosent break. the 4 piece frame work is bolted together so its completely reusable.

I still have the 45 Hatt ... it's in Sag. Tower is gone and I painted it. I moved to FLA in July of 2007 and now miss the B31 that I had 10 years ago ... so I'm trying to pick one up for down here. Economics being as they are ... I'm looking to do it "priced right" and to take advantage of being in FLA and close to the folks that built them originally and may be looking for work at better than East End labor prices.

This is in FLA and is what I want to replace with a B31. Diesel 24 Topaz.

agreed ... times 2. Would like to sell Topaz BEFORE buying a B31... but heart is fighting a very tough battle against brain.

That little diesel Topaz is pretty damn nice. Ideal FL boat...

I saw it on the swap & sell board; Cummins 6bt 210. If I hadn't just bought another boat, this little Topaz would have tempted me. Nice! And in this economy, might go for less than it's worth.

Burns NO fuel ... cruise at 17kts ... T-Top, lean post, for FLA is very good, because you aren't running 70 miles to the canyon to fish. Very stable with the engine (and a hefty engine) smack dab in the center of the boat. A reasonable offer will buy someone a boat ... and the dockage thing still stands.

I had a 31 before when I lived in NY. Sold it, because it could be "cramped" when it's cold out and you're overnighting. I can think of NO better boat to own in FLA !

ask is 17k ... but in this economy ... make an offer. As for Steve from Block Island ... I'm originally from Sag Harbor ... boat would be great for gardiners bay. I can work with folks in Northeast for the shipping.

Took a bit more than an hour (like a good part of a day working solo)...but all winter with tons of snow, and not a drop inside. Shrink wrap is the only way to go if you have a tower....Plus the heat gun is fun to play with (melts snow pretty well).
