best coat for Pat's stainless rudders

Hey guys,

What is the best stuff to coat the stainless rudders with rather than painting on the bare stainless?

Chlorinated rubber primer followed by two part metal primer. Interlux and Pettit both make them. Use the system and you could get up to two years out of the bottom paint on metal.

Hey Rawleigh,

Where would i look for this chlorinated stuff? What do ythe generally use it for?

Also,
You still got the tank hardware? Still need it if available.

Pettit:

Good System (which I used):

Metal Primer 6455/044* (1 coat)
6627 Tie-Coat Primer (1 coat)
Antifouling (2 coats)


Better system (according to Pettit):

Sandblast or Abrade Surface
Metal Primer 6455/044* (1 coat)
4700/4701 Pettit Protect (2 coats)
Antifouling (2 coats)

I used 2 coats of Pettit Ultima SR or Ultima Pro ablative bottom paint
