I need a magic pellet

I need a pellet that won't go supersonic out of a GAMO VH .177 pellet gun .
The pellet needs to have good stopping power (read as penetration) for squirell size critters and group well at 40yds.
The PBA gold tend to tumble when they go supersonic and pattern- not so reliable (when they go supersonic they sound like a .22). Average with a good rest with lead pellet is 6 hits (read as 1"x1") to 9 shots @ 30 yds. 3x9 power.

I agree. I sighted mine in in my office using a phone book. Plenty penetration. A little too much for backyard squirrel pests, and inaccurate as you state.
The old Benjamin pellet out of the green top can, a pure lead pellet, might work better.

I'd go with a wadcutter as my first choice as they are accurate and pack a wallup, but pushing 1000 fps your going to have accuracy issues with any pellet then at 40 yards it goes into the realm of lucky shot.
