Whaler,
Welcome Aboard!
You've got 6V53s... The 671 is an inline six.

Patrick

That is what they run in the 15 boat fleet at Tropic Star Lodge. According to the staff there they are very reliable. They are slow and LOUD though.

TS uses 4-53's
Capy runs 6v53n's for around a 22knt cruise, in his 31.
Only real problem is they are very dirty(oil leaks)
And they aren't big enough to push the tubb along.
They are how ever cheep to rebuild. A full rebuild kit is only about 1200.00+ labor

Timmy--
How would you know if they are dirty? Yours never ran long enough to find out.

Timmy,
He's pushing less than half the weight you have with the same displacement engines. Hatteras engineers should be shot putting 318 ci engines in a 42 ft convertible. Just my humble opinion. Never pass on a chance to bash a Hatt !
