Great looking boat.. and great looking crew! You can never take away the memories those kids will have. I still recall doing several exciting things with adults when I was a kid.. 55 years ago! I make it a point to take a day off from whatever project I am doing to spend, (as he and I call it "Special time") with my 8 year old grand son. His attention span is about 15 seconds, but I realized how important these times are when his Mom, my daughter, told me he talks often about doing things with me in his "Show and tell" times at school.

A question about "Chimera".. the teak on the cabin bulkhead.. is it veneer, solid wood, or ??? I am facing refinishing mine, and am reluctant to put anything there that isn't solid wood.

Thanks
The bulkhead and overhang are veneer (I'm not sure of any other way to do it), the back and edges were all soaked in a dilute epoxy wash and then epoxied and clamped to the aft bulkhead and overhead. The teak veneer has 13 coats of varnish and we've been building about 3 coats a year. Believe it or not its still gonna take another 6-8 coats to get all the grain out of it.
All the trim work is solid around the windows, doors and edges.

Its been holding up very well, however I wouldn't advise trying it unless you really have the patience to maintain it.

The palm beach cover helps a great deal as well.

Its alot of work, but the look and feel is truly classic.

That's great JP
When my daughter and son were preteen and teen agers we fished together quiet often.

We have a lot of pics and reminisce a lot. I laid out from work one day and Chris cut school for this grouper
