OK.. it is time once again for me to ask another dumb question. (The last one was "What does RLDT mean?)

So.. here it is.. On the first page after you sign on...

To the left of each string's subject are symbols.. I can't figure out what they are for..

There is a circle with what looks like a bell in it.. sometimes the bell is colored sort of orange/brown, usually they are not filled with any color.

Then sometimes there is a short black arrow pointing to a page symbol. Sometimes there is no arrow.

Some of the "bells?" wiggle, and if so they get smaller and then larger again, usually they don't move.

And by the way... Where is Thuddd these days?

The Amber colored bell indicates a new post

The White colored bell indicates no new post

A lock indicates that one of our Moderators has locked the post for no more activity

And I believe that if the bell is wiggling it means that the post is real popular and experiencing a lot of activity

Go to the General Discussion page and scroll to the bottom of the page....after answering your post I found the Legend that describes all of the symbols

Thanks.. I was not clear in that I asked that question a long time ago.. and the answers resulted in Thuddd making some wry comments about Bertram 31s.. which reminded me of him, which in turn brought me to ask where he was today. I have never met the gentleman, but he seems so kind and gentle I can't understand why so many of the regs here pick on him so much!
