Stamoid Cleaner

Replaced all of the old canvas covers on my 31 SF a few years ago with off-white double stamoid, goretex stitching. My marnia is directly under one of the flight paths to Baltimore/Washington airport. There are times during the boating season when we get what looks like exahust soot on all of our boats. It hasn't been that bad this year for some reason, however my stamoid covers are looking pretty nasty.

I used a special cleaner and protectant that I found on the internet at the begining of this season, however, it didn't seem to improve the situation much. At this point I am thinking something like soft scrub with bleach.

Any suggestions on how to get stamiod back to off-white woudl be greatly appreciated.

Craig,

Nix the soft scrub. Try water, liquid detergent, color safe bleach & a soft scrub brush. Keep it wet with the mixture for about 5 - 10 minutes. Rinse very well after the scrub.
