Gentlemen,

Does anybody have any knowledge or experience with these electronic controls? A friend of mine has a new, three station set up for my Yanmar Diesels. He is the same guy that sold me the engines to begin with. Any response would be welcomed.

Thanks as always,

John

John,
Installed Micro Commanders on the console and tower when we put the E-Tec outboards on " Targeted Species" in '06. Love them and never had any problem, after learning how to use them. You do have to warn about the responsiveness. Call me at 225 926-3824 or 225 268-5617 and we can talk more about the controls, spray rails and paint.

As the post was addressed to 'Gentlemen' I was using my best (Australian) English....it doesn't get much better than the duck's guts, except possibly when you are really stuck for a superlative there is that ultimate accolade...."the cat's @rse!" but at least I spared you that.

I can't get that link to register properly, so you have to scroll over the whole thing and paste it if you want to check the definition.

I think the Mathers are good.

They can be very touchy. Several boats around here have crashed into docks that have them. But that might be the people driving them. I think fly by wire should only be in things that have ejection seats. Thats just how I feel though.

I put the ZF Micro Commanders in the B25 adn love them. When ZF bought Mathers, they allegedly took care of the problems to which Brewster refers. That said, any issues I've had docking with them are all mine. Expensive, but worth it IMO...

I just closed the deal yesterday. $2750 for the ZF series 9000 with controls for three stations. He also threw in new Floscans for the Yanmars...I forget what model, but they're the analog units and not the digital model.
