DuPont releasing Imron and other marine finishes

DuPont is in the process of releasing thier line of Marine Finishes, it has been around a short time but it has been very quiet. I believe its "official" release might be the IBEX show next month.

For years people have used Imron and other DuPont products, we have been spraying Imron since the day it came out. The thought was that other brands were more "marine" then the Imron.

Well thats about the change.

Maybe its just re-badged Imron, who knows, but the new color selection with the Imron MS100 basecoat system and MS600 single stage line is super. Nice mettalics and great solid colors that really broaden the plain flag blue, fly, ice blue, etc. They are coming out with shades that will make anyone happy along with a new clear as well.

Interior wood coatings, special prep and cleaners, and get this: COLORED SEALANT that matches the topcoats perfectly, even for the mettalics!
No-sand alumistick primer, epoxy and urethane primers, non-skid particles, epoxy fairing compounds, sprayable fairing compounds, brushing converters, etc.

They have always had products that did this, but now for the first time it is all being sold and branded towards the marine industry with ultra low VOCs as well.

Another bonus- it can be sanded, polished, and easily repaired. As a long time DuPont fan and Imron fanatic I am excited about this, it also looks like it might be sold more to the public through distributors for you home project guys.

As for it being rebadged as marine, we all know that putting the word "marine" in front of anything, automatically jacks up the price.

Will these products be available for individuals to purchase or will they only be sold to "professionals". I see on the product info sheets the mention of sales to pros only.
