Thanks guys, I have a few button up things to do today and tomorrow-radar, tabs and outriggers- but it's pretty well finished. Boat tops out at 41 kts wide open, 30 kt cruise at 3150 and right around 11 gph total. I love the chock up there. I am done with projects for now...

interesting....numbers very similar to mine with the fly bridge and 1984 chrysler gassers..just a little faster at cruise. .

randall, I don't want to burst your bubble but I think the 11 gph is total, not per side. Of course I am assumiming your 440's are burning 10-12 per side.

I think Mark is getting a little over 3nm per gallon - really impressive!

Ironman, I think they are twin Volvo D3 - 160's running counter rotating single SX drives from aft mounted engines.

ixnay...i have chrysler 360 heavy duty truck engines...bout 215 HP each and for a ten year average the boat burns 10.5 gallons per hour....total,both engines....will bust 40 with lots of throttle left (4000 RPM, self imposed red line) and will cruise all day at about 28 @3000 RPM with the secondaries closed. but i like to cruise around 2700 rpm ...which is 24-25.

I should have known that you would have your fact straight - sorry Randall - with those numbers you have no excuse to stay tied to the dock. Give the Kayak a rest and go burn some fuel!

ive been starting the engines every 10 days and running them for 20 minutes each. the boat however is in my shop driveway taking the summer off and having the raw water re plumed (i can reach the valves now) and the engine covers and cockpit deck restored. lost my slip . ill be back in next summer.

Wayne,
is that similar to the very special 25 in the boatdiesel.com site?
No.
The 25 you mentioned is Jim Grahms. That boat has a single 315hp Cummins 6BTA + ZF220 V-drive. CMP's boat has Volvo outdrives, if I'm not mistaken.
