Another weekend another adventure! While trolling a weed line in 800 fathoms of the Spencer I came across a pilot whale that looked to be in distress so thinking it was tangled in a long line I went in with knife and video camera to "save the whale" The whale was swimming in tight circles and when i got near it I looked down into the abyss looking for lines or nets , not paying attention, the pilot whale came around and head butted me, I pushed it aside and continued looking for wounds but never could figure out what was wrong with it...here is the video clip

Charlie,

Pilot whales are actually in the porpoise/dolphin family.
So are beluga and killer whales.

That being the case, I have a feeling the whale was just amusing himself (and Jimmy) in that weed line.

Jimmy,

great camera work .....as always.
When do we get to see your video of "swimming with the Great White's?" LOL

Like I said Bruce, they are playing. Must have originally thought she was a squeeze toy. Whether coincidental or intuitive, they did say the whale appeared to realize she was struggling and raced to the surface, and released her.

Harv,
And the tiger shouldn't have attacked Roy, or the other queer, I can't remember.

Been around wild animals enough to know the only good ones are served with mashed taters, gravy and a good drink.

Harv, This one wasnt playing it went around and around in a 10 foot circle for hours. Frank it,s a Sony HD video camera , I don't know the model number off hand but you can store data on the hard drive or memory chip and the prices came way down ...I think I paid around $700.00 for it and I had the Sony housing already, unfortunately my son had my wide angle attachment. Bruce...I had a knife :P

And for my next trick
