8 ga tinned, marine grade, wire is the minimun requirement that should be used for connecting various items to the bonding system. It is preferable to solder all lugs to the wire & use adhesive linned heat shrink tubing to further protect the lug attachment.

12 ga is way too small.

Every metal object that is in contact with the water the boat sits in should be bonded...

If you need the copper bonding strap, try www.gacopper.com. In June before the price increase they had the best price I could find on the internet.

Tony or Capt Patrick, what would be a good thickness .011, .022, .032?

Some of my bonding got abused during my repower and I'd like to replace it this winter.

This is from the tip section:

"The primary strip should be copper at least 26 gauge in thickness and 1" in width. "

That would be the .22 thikness which is what they had when I ordered mine not the heavier one they have now. I would think the heavier one might be harder to work with when making the conection points.
