Well, I was looking for a cheap starting price project. Long term resto doesn't bother me too much. I know I've seen this boat on ebay a year or more ago but thought it was sold. Based on the pictures, besides free (to get it out of your way) what's a decent price?
If I don't get it maybe someone else can add this to their to do list and take this abuse victim home. http://miami.craigslist.org/boa/644239689.html

I think this one might beat Tom's (1961 31) find. It looks like its had a rough run of it. You are going to need to take a good look at it to see what can be salvaged. If the hull is in good shape, what defines good is the question, and nothing else is salvagable, then you are basically starting from scratch.

Not a bad thing. You need to figure out how much you want to put into it and I think that will help you determine a price. Since he is willing to take a boat in trade, then maybe the price is between $8.000 to $10,000. Capt. Pat might have a better idea as to the value of just a hull.

Tropic Star in Panama is always looking for B31 hulls to convert to SF since they have a glass shop down there, pop the boat in a 40' container and ship from Miami to PTY......that boat is worth maybe 3-4k since the Express models are not that popular. Hull value only, maybe get a few bucks for the window frames if they are repairable. Hull looks pretty rough too, was it a sinker?

Kurt- some folks would pull that right down to bare hull. Then replace stringers and bulkheads, decking etc. If the boat warrants that, and If you are willing to go that far, then you could have a stunning resto on completion. But man that really is a "long term resto" as you put it. But it would be spectacular when done. Big commitment!

He says there are engines, trannies, running gear etc. But I doubt they would be usable. So on price I would guess $3500 as is where is.

Good luck if you go forward.

this boat will have a value of $175,000-$195,000
Not hardly since you can buy many 31 bristol boats for quite less.
