STAINLESS PROPS

Post by Craig Mac »

I saw a 30 foot Riva Sunriva in a showroom the other day---twin diesels inboards with 3 bladed stainless props---never come accross stainless for inboards- any reason why not? Blade design looked like a cleaver.

Craig,

Main two reasons: More expensive... Hit something with SS wheels & maybe say goodbye to your transmission...

I agree with Patrick. My father in law had a 20 ft. Pursuit with and outdrive he put a stainless prop on. He hit something. Wound up rebuilding the outdrive. He was told get rid of the prop, not enough give.
