TWIC surprise...to me at least.
Some things you should know when you go for your TWIC card. A copy of your license is not good enough. They want an original. You need proof of citizenship AND anotherphoto ID. They will scan everything. You will have to fill out a ridiculous questionnaire that ask questions like: if you are presently wanted for a felony or if you have ever been involuntarily incarcerated in a mental institution. Your payment with a Merchant Marine Document is $105.25. Don't expect it to be offered. They took me for $132.50 until I saw my receipt. Then they credit it back to my credit card and redid it at the right charge. INTERESTING:On the top right corner of my receipt in tiny type: Lockeed-Martin. They've outsourced the TWIC thing to a private government contracter! No wonder the Coast Guard doesn't know anything other than you have to have the card (and visa versa). Walter
