Bahamas Guide Rec. Needed

Post by Hyena Love »

Warden has a big conference at Paridise Is. Bahamas. Be there for a week in mid-May, faithfully discharging my obligations as a trophy husband. Sure, she makes me wear a man-thong at these kind of events, but thats a small price to pay.

Anyone got a good charter recommendation in that area? Looking deep sea, of course, does not need to be a fancy vessel, Bert.'s would be my first choice.

Many thanks in advance.

Ernest- There's a Marina on Paradise Island called Hurricane Hole that's walking distance from most of the hotels. Don't know if they're all private boats or not but worth the walk. If you cross the bridge from Paradise Island to Nassau (and you undoubtedly will), a short walk to the left (you'll see it from the bridge) is the Nassau Yacht Haven. It keeps a bunch of charter boats running out of there fairly regularly. They also have a small restaurant upstairs, "the Poop Deck" where you can sit outside and look at the boats while eating Conch chowder, Conch fritters and drink Pauli Girl beer. My experience has been Dolphin and Wahoo. Offshore there is pretty close to home based on where they are. Walter

Feel free to call me when you're in town - my numbers in the local telephone directory - see the white pages,it's on page # 42!

I'd be happy to take you fishing if you like - my own B28 is at the Nassau Yacht Haven of which Walter speaks along with 3 charter boats being based there:a Hatteras 45,Viking 52 and a Pursuit 30.Most other charter boats are based at either of two marina's just further east of the Nassau Yacht Haven.

Hurricane Hole Marina is only catering to transiting boats presently in preparation of major renovations there and the popular Green Parrot bar/restaurant there is still open for the time being as far as I know.

Likely the conference is at the Convention Centre the company I work for just built recently in between '05 - 07.

Send me a pm if you need any specific 'advance' local knowledge and I'd be happy to answer as far as I can.

I was just @ the Nassau Harbour Club Marina (acouple marinas down from the Poop Deck) for afew days.
There's a guy chartering a fairly new Hatt.
Saw him go out afew times, no fish though.
Another guy there is chartering an older Luhrs or Bertram (+or-40').
Saw him go out afew times too. He always came back with fish.
Walter's right, Dolphin and Wahoo.
Good Luck,
