Paint Question

Post by DRIFTER31 »

Thinking of painting my boat but have never been a fan of painted boats unless they absolutely need one. Mine could polish out with OK results. My question is :How long will Awlgrip and epoxies like it last in the open sunlight and still shine and what is the best product to use? Thanks Troy

Down here in Florida you could expect 7 to 10 years for a properly applied Awl Grip paint job with clear coat.

My boat is Awlgripped. When I bought it it was a bit dull. I have since used the awlwash and awlcare. It made a big difference. Their care instructions are online...no waxing etc.

My boat was painted in 2000 and I don't want to pay the 15-20 k i was told it may be to do it right.

I plan on keeping it for a while.
