gel -kote

i lost my gel-kote activater( hardner )... what can i use ???or should i use??

Phil,

MEKP, same as polyester resin, (which is what gelcoat is...). Mix ratio is 3% - 4% depending on ambient temperature.

i figured as much ,but wanted to make shure..you about dried out up there? i am headed home tommorow for a week ,,,,gota bail the front yard,then back to port a . got the boat in the covered shed for awhile...waiting for good weather and the white run in sept,,,,thanks again....

Also -- use the wax additive if the surface gelcoated is exposed to air. Avoid letting it cure in direct sunlite if possible. Both could lead to a tacky surface. I found using a little extra MEKP for a faster batch is better.
