Racor leaking

Post by Capt.Frank »

I have 900 series racors, I pulled them a part last year and cleaned. The plug in the bottom would not seal. So I purchased a new one(plastic). It will did not work either. So I used a different gasket and it has worked since last year. Now its leaking and can not get the old plug to screw in. Do I need to buy a new bowl?

Thanks

Yep, get a new bowl from Lewis Marine and the neat brass drain petcock too that comes with the correct gasket - ditch the plastic drain, its garbage.....once you cross thread that plastic its toast. Russ P. helped me understand this, and Andre' gave me a new bowl...damn it's nice to have friends to bail you out.

Vic: Are you going to Dr. Nick's party this Saturday? I hope to head out early from Madisonville Saturday morning to get a good docking spot. Hope to see you and Mrs. Elaine while we're there.

Didn't realize Dr. Nick's deal was Sat, but we will be around & look you up.
