Epoxy Gelcoat??

I am looking for a product that I can spray into a mould and lay up epoxy/fiberglass onto the sprayed in material so when I remove the piece from the mold, the sprayed in materiel would be the finished top coat. It would also have to be UV resistant. (The same way one would spray polyester gelcoat into a mold and lay up with polyester/fiberglass).

I can't seem to find a UV resistant epoxy based "gelcoat" material in the US. Any ideas?

Use regular gelcoat, it’ll be fine with epoxy resin.

I'm a big fan of epoxy resin and fiberglass. I prefer paint over polyester gelcoat.

Paint over epoxy yes

IN a mold gelcoat is what you want. You can then paint it or leave it in gelcoat when the part is out of the mold.

OK Thanks.
I'll experiment with gel coat and epoxy and see how it goes.

Marshall,
You may want to look into vinylester with gelcoat.
There are some really nice VE resins that perform similar to epoxies,
with compatible gel coats
