Pretty cool
I would collect about 1000 lbs of Eel Grass on those foils in about 15 minutes crossing the bay.

Great do that a few times and clear the way for us.
Great to see a true improvement in technology to make electric boats a viable option. Sure it has a way to go...but overcome the obstacles of electric one hurdle at a time. Fast, with some range...getting closer.

I guess the seat belts are for when you hit a big wake and the bow digs in???? And why is the electric outboard "running" at the dock?

For fear of bumping into the dock as there is no anchor, I suppose.

40 mile range...figure a 1/3 reserve so you can go 13 miles from your dock. For me that covers about 75% of my trips. Then again when I get there I often troll a few hours.

Do not think that would work to well on our 31’s, especially on an overnighter 90 miles from Manasquan….but then again I’ve been wrong. I’ll take the 5.9 BTA’s with my 3.5 KW Phasor generator. 220 gallons of diesel fuel and 400# of ice. See ya tomorrow night. EarleyBird

Well forever we didn't think tier two emissions would hit the boating industry in the US. And all of a sudden it did. Got rid of a lot of good engines.
With the demand for eliminating internal combustion engines being pushed, it's not going to be long before it's legislated that boats be converted to electric, or they carbon tax people out of anything other than large yachts who can afford it, or price fuel up into the unobtainium range.

Let them keep working and tinkering with electricity or any viable means...it's how we progress. We went from a paddle, to a sail to steam, naptha, gasoline, to diesel, turbines electo-diesel, nuclear...which kinda goes back to steam.

California is on the verge of forcing Charter Boats to upgrade their engines and install scrubbers in the exhaust system.
