Finally got my arch, I did the install & wiring. I consider myself fortunate to have found it.

I think that looks great - getting the antennas up high and out of the way as well as the installation of the radar. I'll bet there is a lot of work supporting that mounting and running the wiring.

This was made for the Jessica Lee a 1976 26' FBSF in San Diego area. The boat was for sale there many years ago, I liked the arch so I had saved a pic of the boat for that reason. Well a couple of years ago the boat showed up for sale in Chicago, I chatted with the owner then forgot about it. This feb while in Florida I found the boat for sale on ebay by another owner in Indiana dismantled, project trashed. I made a offer on the arch, dropped by Indy on way back from Fl, got a uhaul trailer picked up arch hauled it home to door county Wis. All Polished Stainless. Meanwhile the hull was trailed to Alabama by a gentleman with the intentions of installing a pair of outboards, wonder how that is going.

I have one on my B28 but dont have it on this year. I remove it every year bc I store the boat at my house and it nds to be removed for the haul and transport.

Scenario, That's got to be alot of work, just the thought of wrestling with the wiring gives me the chills.
Fortunately This one folds down and lays back on brackets that support it. I can raise it at home when I take it out of storage and haul it 1 mile to the ramp to launch. The local electric co. measured the height so I could clear the wires along that route.

Looks great. Stainless is heavy. Must of been a good wrestling match getting that thing on.

Wisconsin has two seasons 4th of July and Winter.

I spent some time back and forth to Racine when I was working. Never looked forward to the Winter Trips.

Tony, I was about to say Carib because of the side pillar and the window...they didn't seem like a normal 28... then Chanse explained its a 26.
This Napier guy copied the 28 into the 26, or vice versa, I don't know which came first...

I worked, lived in and around Chicago for many years prior to developing a client in Racine. Always looked forward to going there as opposed to chitown regardless of the weather. You probably miss O&H’s Kringles though.

After Labor Day the wind shifts NorWest blows like hell for weeks temps take a serious drop and you can’t get out anyway. I always seem to stay in until 3rd week of October or so. Then it can get to be a problem trying to pull it and I always say next year right after Labor Day she comes out. November brings the westerlies, I always record 40 to 50 mph winds, always, ever year even in my small protected bay.

I always considered the Bertram 26 a scaled down version of the popular 28. The FB model was only made in 1976/77 and in very small numbers and is often mistaken for the 28 from afar.

Believe it or not from time to time I can get the Kringles imported from Racine in Traders Joe's. Have not seen them since the whole Covid issue so maybe that is over with.

The Company I worked for had purchased a division of SC Johnson.

Stayed downtown one time at a hotel on the lake right next to a Marina and some really expensive Condo complex. But Downtown Racine rolled up the sidewalks at 5 in the afternoon. Was a real quiet city. Mostly stayed out by our office a few miles outside of down town.
