I’m back again, I think

Haven’t been around for a while although I lurk a bit when time permits. Discovered there is more to life than making movies and I have been indulging. Good thing since my memory is slowly settling into the West like everything else. One of the things I did was design and build a house. Would post pix but read Bruce’s sad tale of the hackers making it impracticable to do so.
Anyway, the real reason for this post is that during construction of the house my backhoe guy ran over the 220 line to the boat house and killed my battery charger. Didn’t notice for months since I was knee deep in construction. Anyway, when I got back to Dreamsicle the batteries were D.O.A. Bought new batteries only to discover that my Charles 30 amp, three bank unit is toast. Also found out that Charles got out of the marine charger business while I wasn’t looking. So, now I need to replace the charger and don’t know the market, but am betting you guys do.
Soon as I get this one solved I plan to start the silent Cummins and head down the creek. If I get everything done I may take a shot at the rendezvous in Annapolis. Help! Tanks.

I wondered what you had been up to! Are you talking about St. Michaels in September? It talked to John Hazzard on Friday. He is planning on going up Thursday I believe. I have been working on replacing some of the sills under my boathouse so the boat has been neglected. Long overdue boat house maintenance! Rawleigh

Rawleigh! Wondered where you had gone to. Since you became an entrepreneur haven’t seen you except in passing. Did you look at the UVI pix? What a flash from the past. Miss Uncle Vic something fierce, especially when I do some sautéed oysters. Yum!
Was thinking about Annapolis but depending on date I can always be persuaded to go to St. Michaels. What’s the scoop?

There are a number of good chargers out there.

Blue Seas. Pro Mariner and Marinco.

If you still want a Charles try these guys. I see they list them on their site. It looks like the ones in blue are still in stock. Probably left overs.

Thanks, Tony. Not sure I want a charger that the manufacturer has disowned even though this one lasted twelve years. No warranty. What is your experience?

It's a blast from the past week...Harv and now Mikey!

Good to hear from you.

I can't say anything about my Pro Mariner charger other than I bought it at a fair price. This one was much smaller than the old Raritan unit with extra leads for more batteries. I believe it has settings to charge differnent kinds of batteries....though I stay simple with lead-acid. The hookup was easy, it's been running for years keeping batteries topped off and happy. Once in a while, I hear the fan go on and remember it's there.

Still running my 11 year old Charles. If it ever packs it in, probably will go with a Pro Mariner.

Well, poorly run and mostly on fire. Other than that, overly expensive for no apparent reason. Just got back from cruising around the States in a motorhome, 23 states in 21 days. (7 thousand miles of driving). Montana was the nicest State, could really see living there, the town of Libby specifically.
Niagra Falls boat ride was fun. Smoky mountains were neat. Mt. Rushmore was nice. Glacier Mountains were very pretty. Oregon's Crater Lake is very nice.
Would have loved to have looked some of you guys up driving through East Coast but didn't really have the time. Crunch to get the wife back home for Teaching school!

Mikey: I was thinking about our jaunt through New Orleans on the way to UVII the other day too. What fun! Now we are missing UV, Walter, Terry and I am sure others who were there. Time marches on and spares no one!

Scot,
The question is not whether we’re back, but were we ever really here? It’s a Zen thing. We’re talking Zen and now.
