Whale watching is big business in Friday Harbor and they are hounded relentlessly from first whale watching trip at 9:00 AM to the last sunset trip. This humpback whale's tail fluke is just visible in the distance to the right of the sailboat.

Well I think that would be a very good reason why. Who wants to be hounded sunrise to sunset on a daily basis.

Humpbacks have come and made our bay their home. What is crazy is most of it is in the 18’ deep range and these guys are not babies.

If you are looking for whales come to NJ in October. They are right off the beach chasing bunker. They casuse some havoc with the striker fleet. They are not boat shy.

In fact they have been known to push some of the boats around, during their eating frenzy.
