Check your fuel vents!

I was recently working on my B31 and needed to remove the fuel tank vent hose. I noticed some dead grass in the end of the hose. I started digging around in the end of the hose and removed a small palm full of dead grass and two dead or hibernating spiders. Apparently they had toted this grass into the vent to make a nest.

You may want to check yours!

Actually the vent itself should have a screen on it so this does not happen. I know mine does.

I thought mind did as well. Apparently the screen is long gone.

Replace it. The screen also plays a role in stopping any flashback into the tank in case of fire, I believe.

Does anyone have a fuel vent they would recommend? A link would be greatly appreciated.

I have diesel engines.
