V6 Repower of Inboard B26

I have a 1983 inboard B26 with the Crusader 165s. I’m going to repower and thought about 5.7s but am thinking about 4.3s. Would be either the old iron 4.3s MPI (225 hp) or Volvo Gen V aluminum 4.3s (250 hp). In both cases I need to go to ZF transmissions because the motors are standard rotation. Probably ZF 68a which replaced the 63a. The Mercruiser 250 V6 4.5 is not supported for inboard installation. The Gen V Volvo 4.3 I can get I think and I’m leaning that way. They seem to be light and make more torque than the old 4.3. I’d like to stick with my 1” shafts and 14” props. Thinking of going to Aquamet 22 shafts to better handle the power and put some more pitch on the props. Exhaust are 3” going into Y’s. I’d like to keep them if I can. I wondering how things should work out if I go this way. Thanks
