Old Engine Bed Recycled Into Wine Opener

I never throw anything away because I might need it one day. Before and after pics. The 50 year old wood cleaned up beautifully with a few screw holes for character.

Honorable reuse of the material.

Serious question. Is the bilge odor still at all detectable? Note: I would see that as even more character.

Daughter confiscated it. Just enough material to make another one... Bilge smell? All of the light ends burned off while in the attic for 15 years -- cant believe Katrina was 15 years ago. Where does the time go?

Time gilts that's for sure. I still remember the picture of the boat with the hole above the waterkkine, and the piling still attached to her.

Very cool. I've repurposed some of the old mahogany to new boat parts, but nothing that cool. Awesome.

Nice, that's definitely a repurposed way to use the ol wood.

I used the mahogoney from my deck supports to make rails to hold pictures at the Club. Lacquered them up and another membef lettered in gold leaf. I like the wine opener better...
