Anchor line

Post by El Dorado »

I'm adding a vertical lewmar windlass and was wondering how much 1/2 inch rode I can carry in the orginal B31 locker without running into problems with the freefall of the line into the locker?

Yep, Mike's right on the money. Incidentally I have the same Pro Fish windless and "so far so good". I keep spare line in a 5 gallon bucket & anchor under the walkway. You will use the backup at some point. FYI use a crew member to watch the retrieve . That motor has got some gusto and if you tangle bad it will cut the line, at least one strand anyway.
