Fuel Fitting Size at Tank Pickup

Post by Vince Luciani »

Hello all,

I started the installation of my fuel lines over the weekend. I am installing 1/2" inside diameter fuel hose as required by Cummins. However, I noticed that 3/8" fittings are currently installed in my fuel pickup at the tank. Do I need to remove these and drill and tap for 1/2" fittings? Or is one 3/8" fitting OK for fuel flow?

Thanks,

Vince

Vince,
If you have 3/8 pipe fittings on the pickup, use a 3/8 close nipple into 1/2 full flow valve with a 1/2x3/8 bushing on the end.

Out the other end of the valve go with the 1/2 fitting.

This will cause you no trouble.
