Big Day #2!

After 7 months of being sidetracked, I finally launched her for the 2nd time last Friday. Went for a joy ride with some of the family and she ran great. Waiting for my T-Top guy to re-open and it needs upholstery, but it's in usable shape now.

Thanks, guys. Friday was a big day. I had 4 adults and one 6 year old along for the launch and joy ride. They immediately gravitated to the living room area in the bow (glad I changed that design years ago). We used some cushions from our outside chairs for padding. The boat rides like it is on a cloud. It's a cruiser.

Docked with a strong wind pushing us towards the dock. Turned the boat stern-to the dock and grabbed the joy stick for the BOW THRUSTER ....BRRRRRRRRR...bow swings to starboard and I back into the slip. Like a PRO! I couldn't believe it. My brother-in-law was cursing that it was too easy! :-D

Drone footage needed when she is built out.

Cam,

The Pics you've shown look sweet.I'm glad that you are finally enjoying the fruits of your labor!!!!

I'd love to see some more photos to get some inspiration to get out and do some glasswork on my boat.

Grin! Great news. She is the most beautiful 25 Ft Bertram that i have ever seen. The quality of your work is impressive to say the least.

How are the preliminary performance numbers?

Captbone - performance seems ok. She's light right now. I saw 42 mph at 5750 rpm with 6 on board and 50 gallons of fuel. The prop may not be quite right. It's an RX4 15x16. Wild guess on my part and, ironically, they don't make a pitch below 18" any longer. It seems to slip quite a bit getting onto plane. She seems to plane off at 3500 or so and is cruising at 4000/4250. I am clueless about props but I think it needs more bite (technical term). Open to suggestions.

Cam, That is such an amazing boat. It makes me think that in just 10 years, I could have something nearly as nice...

Thanks, Guys. I had 6 adults and 2 kids on her yesterday for a lunch cruise. Windy and choppy (white caps rolling up the ICW), but the boat rides on top of all that...nice!

Got my first dock rash on the way out of the slip. Black rubber on the Awlcraft 2000. I'm going to try the T0008 surface prep to remove. I also have some 3M adhesive remover to try. Any suggestions?

I agree. Or yet better, look at it and like it. I use alcohol or gasoline. Leaves a haze but goes away, if not, I still like it!

Nice job Cam. I know you have been working on it for a LOOOONG time. Please bring her out to Annapolis so John F, John D and I can drool over her...at proper distance of course!

The AwlGrip T0008 cleaner/prep worked like magic. Before and after shots:

I heard from my T-Top guy that the hardtop is delivered. I will be pulling for pipe work soon, but I need to run back to Virginia to take care of some business for a week or two.
