Hello All
My 28 did not come with a full head, it came with a toilet in the V Berth. I wanted to make the door removable to make better access for the entertainment area. Don’t mind the mess and the clutter it’s winter. The door blocked the whole port side area.What do you think.

Without the door has its advantages in ease of access. The down side is, keeping unwanted people as well as animals out of the cabin. If I did that I know I would have a racoon living on the boat. Been there, done that.

Also lack of privacy if you are trying to change or us that V berth head.

As far as the over all look, I like it.

Where do you store the door when you take it off the hinges?

You have a ...5 star galley, with ceramic range and microwave, denoting probably that there is family around. How do you manage without a proper bathroom?
By the way, if you still want to make more space, you can move all the galley back towards the hull by at least 30-40cm! There is a huge unused space back there that you cannot reach.

The door is on take apart hinges and is put back on when the boat is not used.
There is a door to the forward v-berth for privacy.

Thanks. I think I will be storing it in the v-berth. It is primarily a day boat so toilet is all we need.
The area aft of the galley has a shelf that is used for beverages cups ice napkins and such.
With the door open it was a narrow access.

I asked about the door out of pure curiosity, as I’m genuinely curious about boat things anyway!

As for storing the door in the V berth, hmmm, at least here, one could not do that...the chop is too important and it would start banging all over the place, no matter how well fastened. It would be something like a disaster waiting to happen, or something along these lines. Let alone that moving the door in and out is of similar risk. You can imagine this chore after a drink or two, too.

PS: oh, I almost forgot it. If a toilet bowl is all you need, then you could install it ON the step inside the old bathroom area, under what is now a shelf. That shelf could pivot to be out of the way when the toilet is in use. Also, you could hang a curtain under the shelf so the bowl is not visible except when in use. This way you could free the v berth from the toilet. Just an idea.
My head is right up there and frees a lot of space inside the bathroom.
