have a Bertram 25 flybridge , my brother in law has the formula 233, which would be considered the better sea boat?

Formulas are pretty good, fast, but if it really got bad the Bertram.

I would think that the formula would be a bit faster in a head-sea run as it is a 8' beam boat, other than that I would take my B25, but I'm obviously a little biased.

I've owned both. Ran 3 person charters on the Formula. regularly fished 30 miles off.

Also love the Bertram. Both ride very well but the Bertram can handle the seas more comfortably. And I find it a drier boat.

My Dad bought a 233 Formula new in 1967 when I was 8. I grew up on that boat. He ran it around LI Sound up until 5 or 6 years ago when the motor beds and aft stringers got dangerously soft. The 233 hull is one of the best ever. Lots smaller than a B25. I have his 233 stored here. It may get restored some day

If I ever downsize to a small single boat my choices would be a 20 foot Bertram or a 23 Formula.

19 Donzi St Tropez and 20 Seacraft are other possibilities ----but still married to my 31 going on 32 years.
