Guys: Any thoughts or suggestions on this? Thanks in advance! While changing over to dripless shafts, we decided to replace the seals in the Borg Warner tranny's in a B28. The fluid had not been changed (if at all - 1988 model) as best I can tell. I just bought it. There are small metal flakes in the oil. The rear bearing is in good shape which makes me think a gear or something may be wearing a little. The shaft, we found was out of alignment and was hard to turn. Not sure that could have had anything to do with it. In any case, should I flush it and continue to run it as is since the metal is realtively minimal or pull the tranny and rebuild at this time. Appreciate any opinions.

Wanted to provide one more piece of clarification. he shaft was binding in the stuffing box, the transmission spins freely. Thanks

Probably a good flushing and probing with a pencil magnet will be suficient... You can always elect to tear it down and rebuild at a later date if needed.
