Had never heard of drivesaver’s before and wasn’t sure if it’s something that others had luck with?

R&D marine also makes a unit that is ddimika r. These have been around a while.

I have not had any experience with them, not d ure if anyone here is using them. Unless you have a tendency to hit things, not sure they are worth it, but you can not put a price on piece of mind.

I used something similar when I repowered a 34' (dare I say?) sailboat with a 30 HP diesel many years ago.. they help in several ways.. they often result in less vibration and can tolerate a bit of engine/prop shaft misalignment.

I had them on a 34 Hatteras with 453T Detroit engine I used to own. Like Frank said that help in several ways but if they hadn't been on the boat when I bought it I wouldn't add them.

Sold a few, know a couple people who use them.

If used to be a "fuse" in the drive system they are ok...I kinda prefer to use Brass keys for that reason.
A couple guys used to take up some room so they could use shorter shafts or extend life of ones they had that showed wear around packing area.

Some wanted to reduce vibration...that was where I had issue with them.

Yes they can deal with some misalignment and they can absorb some vibration.
Problem is many wanted to install instead of straightening a shaft, properly align the engines replace motor mounts and that is just not what they are meant to do. So instead of fixing problems they hid them for awhile.
