Rupp Outriggers

Bought some carbon fiber Rupp outriggers last year before the white marlin open. Just last week I noticed that there was an unacceptable amount of motion at the joint between two of the sections. I’ve videotaped it and sent it off to the company and received an email with a diagram of how they should be put together and the necessary pieces. Also a phone number and name to call with questions. Pulled them apart today and unfortunately they were not put together right at the factory. Spoke with Alex Rupp and we went through possible fixes for it and I was concerned that after 200 hours of motion that the product was compromised and would not give me the longevity I desired. He agreed 100% and informed me they will be sending out a completely new set tomorrow. It’s always nice to know that a company still stands behind their products and the occasional mistake. Wanted the forum to know this when choosing a company to do business with for these expensive purchases.

Good to hear. Glad you had a good experience. I have Rupp riggers and recently purchased some collapsible back bars. The bridge over the Boynton Inlet is 18' clearance and I need to tip them back. They were helpful to me as well and I got the new product in 2 days.

Did you just call the main number or a specific one? I need to contact them as I have an issue with one of my rigger base tubes. I want to speak with them to garner some advice and guidance.

Many thanks,

Dug
