Sport Fisherman Head

Does the head in the B31 Sport Fisherman (the one which sits between the v-berths) draw its flushing water from the fresh water tank or is there a through-hull fitting that allows it to use seawater? (So far, we have only done short runs across the bay to Sailors Haven and Watch Hill, so we have not had the need to use the head.)

Is it necessary to add anything to the holding tank to control odors?

Thanks,

It can be plumbed either way, but mine (and I believe most) were plumbed from the factory with a through-hull that provided raw water intake. My odor-control was telling the guys they couldn’t use it, period. Regarding the ladies, I just discharged (legally) and flushed the tank after each trip.

Unless it was changed it uses sea water. The water tank if original is only 18 gallons. Where is the holding tank?

Properly installed tank with the proper hoses should not put any smells in the cabin. Put a filter on the vent line for the tank and you should be fine. Of course using fresh water to flush helps. Salt water will cause odors.
