B31 Window Frames - Does anyone have any recommendations on how to recondition pitted B31 window frames? I am doing a complete rebuild and my window frames are badly pitted. Need to recondition them before I put them back in - any advice??

I've been watching to see if you got any advice.
My boat too has some light "freckles" on the window frames, inside.
I've tried buffing, and a half dozen types of metal polish.
Autosol seems to be the most popular out there.
If you find an answer, let me know!

The only magic is clean and paint. Nothing will take out pitting.

When I redid the front window frames on the Anna E., I used JB Weld to fill in the holes and pits. The frames had some big holes from rotted out snaps. The JB Weld worked great. I sold the boat a few years later, but it had all held together up to that point. There's a couple of pics of the Anna E with the windows redone in the thread below.

Hello All,
Thanks for the replies. I thought by now, someone would have come up with user friendly replacement windows/frames. 3D printers should be able to make these frames. Anyway - I'm going to pull the frames and windows out, refurbish the frames and replace the windows with poly carb sheets. That leads me to my next question - does anyone have any advice on the best way to remove the window frames? It appears that I'll have to jack up the bridge to be able to pull the frames out. ANY TIPS???????? I would like to inflict as little damage as possible while pulling out and re-installing the windows and frames.

Thanks!!!
Andy

Andy, when you drop the headliner in the salon you will see several bolts that hold the bridge securely to the aluminum window frame. Remove the nuts and cut away caulking/sealants with a utility knife prior to jacking up the front of the bridge. I'm not competent searching the site, but somewhere on here photos have been posted showing these bolts.
