Milestone Day

Hard to believe...after almost 9 years, Saturday was the last all-day sanding party (of one). Cap is now at 400 and ready for paint, rest of boat is at Worton creek for paint. My hands hurt!

Cam...
Way to go!
I recall meeting you and seeing the boat a couple of years ago when you were in the early stages. I recall your posting a message here a lot later that you were at a low point and frustrated.
The fact that you stuck to it speaks volumes about your determination. Rebuilding a boat seems at times to be an unending and expensive project... and not for the "faint of heart".
Congratulations!

Thanks, guys! Lots more to do, but it's getting there! The big progress factor for me was having a reasonable place to work on the boat. I don't know how folks can do this work in their driveways or under a tarp. I tried it and struggled.

I, too, have been following your progress and commend you on your industriousness. As others have said, can't wait to see your finished project!

Cam,
Best of luck, been following your progress since the day I joined this crazy board! Looks like we are both coming up on 8 years in November, time flies. Can't wait to see you splash her...

Great news. I remember when you were ready to throw in the towel.

Cam, are you sure the center console layout is the right choice? You still have time to change it!
I admire your willingness to keep on going, to get it just right and even undoing things when you didnt like the direction it was headed. I really look forward to seeing the finished project on the water!

Now that you mention it....I do need an alternate form of propulsion, Maybe a sailing rig and a centerboard set-up?
To quote my wife, "GET IT DONE!"

The only item in this picture that remains after this redesign and overhaul is the shop vac. I still use it every day!
