B28 Bilge Painting

Hi Everyone,
While i have I'm prepping my bilge for repaint soon. I don't really know anything about the coating already there (some type of flowcoat / gelcoat i assume?).
It appears original. It's all in rather good condition, i'm just taking advantage of no motors. Boat is still in the water, so will have to be careful with cleaners etc.
Despite the obvious degreasing / cleaning / drying process required, are there any recommendations for types of bilge paint to use or avoid, or additional prep work? A light sanding obviously as with any paint coverage, but i don't want to remove what's already there.
I did a quick search, but most threads i found were referring to a complete strip back to the glass. But i may have missed one. Apologies if that's the case.
Thanks
Rob
