Harvey Stole My Hatch Covers

My 1983 Bertram 26.6 II Sport Convertible (outboard) was partially sunk in Harvey. I have salvaged it and am working on repair and restoration now. Unfortunately, all the original hatch covers from the cockpit sole were lost in the storm. Does anyone have any idea where I might be able to source some replacements?

Try searching around some old Marina/Salvage yards to see if there are any derelict 26's around. Going to be tough.

Next best thing is to make new ones.

Thanks, Tony. Sounds like a long shot, though.

I talked to High Tide Marine in Florida. They are my go to guys. They could not help, and suggested I would have to get them custom made.

I assume you currently have a glass deck. Figure out how thick the hatch has to be, and see if you can find a fiberglass shop or supplier that might have some odd sizes of Coosa or Penske board laying around and make your own. Not that hard if you have a jig saw and a router.

I saw this in the swap topic first and posted over there. Sorry to hear about the partial sinking. I would think making new replacement hatch covers would be the way to go. Good luck getting her back in shape.
