For those that need to clean up their towers, I came across this video. A lot of work but might be worth it.

Tony,
I'm currently doing this to all of my cockpit trim on my 38, and yes it is a TON of work but it looks way better than 35 year old pitted aluminum. Thanks for sharing that link.

I would say it would take about two days. I bet you are talking a lot of change for that job to be done professionally.
