Tweeked the props and now I get 3840 port 3865 star in the corner, 32.7knots. there 20x23 4 blade m cup. Is that enough rpm for the lp6s? They would spin up to 4080 before. I was told 3850 was best. Both were done full fuel and crew , no ice.

Brewster,

3900 is a good RPM for a lightly loaded B31 w/6LP... Since you're almost there with a fully loaded boat, you're fine.

Brewster,

Anything lower than 3900 heavy loaded is a no go.

3950 to 4k is okay when lite loaded.

Looks like your prop guy added to much pitch. Take 1/2" out. Should gain 100 rpm and bring you to 3950 which is ideal.

Same problem I had.... boat was faster than ever but wouldn't spin up.
I was @ 21x24 - having them taken down to 21x22. As Uv says, the enemy of good is better !

So Ill take it out and pull the props one more time! I should have kept it the way it was. Im going to get a tatoo that says " The enemy of good is better". Maybe if some of the other Faithful want it we could get a bulk rate.

Brewster,

Put me down for one of those tatoos, I am afflicted in the same manner. I'm not sure I could stop myself from having a 1/4" of pitch taken out of those props to account for the added weight of some ice. Somebody stop me.

Its not how fast you go, but how good you look on the water.
