Hi all,
Does anyone have a link to a company (s) that make inside cabin curtains for a 28 Ft Bertram flybridge?

Boy that is a tough one. I might have the container from my old 31 curtains. If I do I will look to see if there is a name on it and I will let you know. JUst need a couple of days to look for it as I think it is buried up in the overhead garage storage way in the back.

You should be able to get any one who makes curtains or covers seats for boats make up a set for you.

You might laugh, but I had the same issue a few years back so what I did was I measured the curtain track for all 5 windows (all but the front one) carefully, in both dimensions and went out and purchased the fabric of my choice X 2 (for each window I bought twice the length, as this is what you need when the curtain is in place with the pleats), and gave it to my mother to sew. I also bought for her this special fabric "belt" with the incorporated strings that you pull so as to form the pleats, which she sewed on top of each curtain...the result is perfect.
In the case a mother is not available, a local lady or shop can easily do the job.
For the 2 bathroom curtains, I bought the same color as the salon ones, only it was an Ikea bath curtain which is synthetic and doesn't hold water, that she then cut to the dimensions I gave her.
You first wash the fabric at 60 C degrees so it contracts, and then you hand it over for sewing; for the height, I counted the distance from the track to each window's bottom end, plus an extra 2-3 cm overlap over the boat frame.

I did the same thing. In my case, I bought blue sunbrella and had them cut and sewn. I ordered these and gave them to the shop to sew in so you have the original track system intact.

I saw it on a Targa 44 this summer. Excellent shades, a bit pricey though; you follow their directions and they calculate a price for you.
For the front windows of the 28, they told me € 310, shipping from Sweden included.

What type of track do you have? On the 31 it came with an aluminum track that a plastic tab sewn into the curtain top and slid into the track and that is what held the curtain in place. For the front windows the track is at the top and bottom of the curtain.

I have the normal alu track that you find in the stores, for house use.
I screwed it in place myself. The hangers are also the common plastic hangers for house use.
None of my curtains have a bottom track. I believe in...gravity!
Also, my two side salon curtains do not end in a triangular shape (fwd), so there is some sun entering from that bit.

Yannis thanks. I would have thought that a house hold track would have rusted ut in the marine environment. The problem with gravity is that the front windows on the 31 have a pretty good angle on them.

Tony, I have no curtains at the front window.
Up to now, I have an external snap-on with tiny holes, like a thick bug mesh. Its very good because during the day it keeps much of the sun out, you cannot be seen inside and you can see outside.
However, the July and August sun is very bright so I thought that an internal shade like the one I put up previously could be better both in sunlight but also in temperature control.
It remains to be seen, as I have elswhere to spend that money instead, at least for now.

Ps the alu track does not rust, it cannot.

Sorry did not realize they are aluminum. Thinking of curtain rods I have put up at home I don't think I rember them being aluminum. Now I need to dig out amagnet and walk around the house to check.

Anyway, these aluminum tracks are 1 (h) X 1.5 (w) cm X any length, at 1-2 € per meter. You slide those plastic eyelets inside the groove and youre done. You slide in similar plastic stops on both sides.

The tabs that slide on the track is what I was looking for.
My Wife can make the curtains. I bought her a high end sewing machine 50 years ago before we were married.

Now if someone had an old set that could be used for patterns that would be perfect.
