Detroit 8.2 Closed Cooling rant

The closed cooling hoses on the 8.2s in Crows Nest were pretty awful. I'm just about done replacing them. A fair number of hoses were J&T specials, and they don't have any hoses for the motors. They gave me 3 Gates parts numbers, and the rest I figured it with the help of my local auto parts store or used straight hose whenever I could. I'm just about done.
There are 20 hoses per motor for the closed cooling only. That doesn't count the raw water side, and the tranny and engine oil coolers are on the raw water side. So 20 hoses x 2 = 40 hoses x 2 = 80 hose clamps. I really think that J&T could've done a way better job here.
My dream is to repower with 6bts when the 8.2s break (hopefully a long way away). Just curious how many hoses on a Cummins closed cooling side only. Thanks.
