FB Helm Seat

Post by John F. »

The next project is to redo the flybridge seating. Anybody have a recommendation for a decent, not real pricey (say under $500 or so) single helm seat? I've looked online at Todd, Tracy, Wise, and Pompanette (Pro series is about it), but have only seen a couple in real life. The local stores stock next to nothing. I figure Pompanette makes the best stuff (for that much $$ it better be), but don't know where any of the others line up. Thanks-

John,
last time I stopped by Bacon's they had a nice one sitting in the showroom for short money. But that was at least six months ago.

John,

Call Release Marine and ask if they have any overstocks, or returns. When people upgrade or buy new, they often trade in the ones currently there. Before I did my bench, I came really close to a used chair that looked spectacular.

Doug C-

Do you ever get my e-mails?

Dug S. - Release has a couple of nice Bluewaters--not for me. Thanks for the suggestion.

John D.- I'll probably go over there one of the days.

Release was north of $1500 when I called this past winter. Found a good deal through Hamilton Marine for a Pompanette chair. Typo or not it was under 350 and they honored the ad price.

JK-

Did you get the Pro Series Helmseat? If you did, how is it? Frustrating thing for me is ordering out of a catalog without seeing any of this stuff except what the local discount marine stores carry.

I got a Pompanette pro series helm seat from Tom at Holtz. Looks like a nice small seat. Tom was real easy to deal with. When I get this done, I'll try to post some pics.
