At least they left the screws

Post by Ripsangler »

My boats been out of the water for just over three years and she's going in March 28. While waxing the hull I looked up and noticed that both of the metal Bertram symbols on port and starboard sides had been removed. Much to my dismay. To top it off they put the screws back in the holes. She looks naked without her symbols. How do you replace something like that?

Man that is really unbelievable. I would report the theft. Those emblems are not cheap.

Maybe he took it to rechrome?? Sorry!! Just joking. About two years a go I went to my boston whaler and I found installed a screen cover in the panel, the canvas guy asked in the harbor and went to my boat instead of my brother boston. lucky it was just a little thing.

The emblems from High Tide are very nice, and pricey, but be prepared to fill some of the previous holes and drill some new ones. Evidently Bertram used different vendors over the years, so the holes may not match up. That is what High Tide told me when I called them several years ago about the holes not lining up when I started the mounting process. If the stolen ones were from High Tide, then they should match up. I'm hoping for your sake, your stolen ones were the original zinc/chrome that typically corrode.
Thanks,
Craig
