Could not stay away from Ray Hunt for long

As most of you know I sold my 31 a few months back......Well, could not stay away from Ray Hunt designs for long. Check out the new addition that will be the "tender" for the new boat.


If you look close, you can still see the drips of West System in my driveway when the Shearwater sat in the same spot for 2 years.

Best bang for buck boating is a 13 whaler.
Ive had 13s, 15s, 17s snd now a 21 commercial.

Hey guys, I erroneously posted that my 1976 Boston Whaler Outrage (pictured above) was a "Ray Hunt design". I went on the Boston Whaler owners site (continuouswave.com) and found the following quote under a similar photo: "A CONTEMPORARY PHOTOGRAPHIC HOMAGE TO BOB DOUGHERTY'S ENIGMATIC BOSTON WHALER HULL DESIGN". So, although Ray Hunt designed the original Boston Whaler for BW founder Dick Fisher, Bob Dougherty designed and developed the 1970-79 Outrage (among many other BW models). Bob Dougherty was chief engineer/designer at BW from 1960-1990, then he and his son founded Edgewater Boats, and upon selling that company they founded Everglades Boats. In addition to the '76 BW 21' Outrage, I have a '09 Everglades 243 (a CC "bayboat" with a 250 Yamaha); the Everglades is the best outboard boat I have ever owned or operated. It is rock-solid with a great ride and great comfort; after 7 years of use I have not had a single problem with the boat or any of it's systems.

I had a Revenge 25 back in the '90s, which I had purchased 50/50 with a friend, second hand from the UK !
We had the boat delivered to us in the port of Pireaus via cargo ship.
Great boat quality, great fun, BUT , completely inappropriate for the Aegean. In the summer (when we do the 100% of our boating) and especially in August, the weather can be really bad with N-NE winds called "meltemia".The waves are big and they are not far appart. As a result, one can either cruise at 8-12 knots going up and down zig zaging the waves, or, go fast and try to ride the crests. Each wave was an invitation to either the dentist or the physical therapist upon arrival to the destination port. Also, with moderate winds and a normal chop, we were banging like crazy, rendering the cruise into an ordeal. We sold the boat as we both couldn't take any more abuse.
This is how the term "deadrise" came into my vocabulary ...

Just a note. 31 backwards is 13, known in accounting as a "transposition error" or 'transposed a number".
Difference is always a multiple of 9
ie .... 31 minus 13 = 18 ..... 1+8 =9

So with your whaler, you just transposed a number !!
