Several marinas in the Ft Lauderdale/Pompano area claim that their gas is ethanol free.
My tank is aluminum, but is there an easy way to test for ethanol in gas ?

I have not seen ethanol laced fuel at a boat dock in some time now. That is down here in the keys at least. Some places still proudly display the ethanol free banner.

I believe if you add some water to a jar of gas, the ethanol will settle out. Phase seperation.

I read an article yesterday that said with the new EPA determination on November 30, 2015 that they are cutting back the amount of E85 required to be produced, that there is a plan (since very few vehicles are actually running E85) to increase the amount of ethanol in the vast majority of the gasoline past 10%. While they aren't going to 15%, many car manufacturers, including vehicles made post 2001 (when they supposedly were all updated to handle 10% ethanol) are now saying that they may void the warranty (a co-worker just bought a Nissan Rogue and it says just that in her owner's manual).

Sounds like their logic is that they will get to the volume of ethanol subsidizing the farmers by just cramming more into vehicles that aren't designed to run on it.
